Announcements :

The original Belvidere Lions Club was organized March 21, 1939 with 26 members. They met every Wednesday noon at a tea room called the Homestead. Because most of the members of the club had answered their call to duty the club was disbanded in 1944 and the Original Charter was given up. On April 16, 1946 the Belvidere Club was reorganized with 65 members. The Belvidere Club currently has 55 members.

We congratulate our newest member(s): Robert Krumrei.

The Club is in the process of designing a new pin for the club. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Activities :

The Belvidere Lions are presently participating in a project with local optometrists. The name of this project is "International Health Gifts". We are accepting gifts of medical equipment and supplies. Mostly needed are eye care products. We are sending a complete eye care lab to Mao City, Dominican Republic. A clinic has been built in Mao City, and there is an optometrist on staff but they do not have enough equipment. We have a complete finishing lab ready to send but the needed funds for shipping are still in demand. If you or your club would like to assist with this project, please send us an e-mail and we will send you additional information. If you know of anyone having eye care equipment to donate we will arrange to get it picked up. Please call or write if you can help.
